Fleeting moments

Years ago, I stopped using oil paint because I could no longer tolerate the smell of solvents and thinners. I then switched to digital drawing and painting with a Wacom tablet. Great fun, but I missed the organic process of creating. That’s why, last year, I returned to pastels—my second love. It was blissful to work with my hands again. So blissful, in fact, that I started dreaming of paint once more…

After some searching, I treated myself to a set of water-mixable oil paints. No more fumes, brushes can be cleaned with water, a tear-off palette (to keep the mess manageable), and I can happily splatter around—because it’s all removable. I’m a happy person. 😉

For this somewhat impressionistic piece, I chose soap bubbles as a symbol of the temporary.
Sometimes, it’s those fleeting moments that help us pause, appreciate what we have, and remind us that not everything is fixed or forever.

With love,
Monos — who enjoys a bit of variety 😉
